Frederic de Bure is a Venture Partner focusing on investment sourcing from Southeast Asian countries outside of Vietnam.

Frederic was formerly the Managing Director of Bucephale Asia, where he helped acquire the business interests of an existing hedge fund, reorganize the institution and sell the management company. In this operational role, he managed all communications with government investment authorities in SEA as well as due diligence and deal negotiations. He rebuilt the internal operations of the company and identified potential areas of risk.

Prior to joining Bucephale, Frederic was Managing Director for SEA for eBay, Inc., where he was responsible for the daily operations of eBay’s business in the region. In this capacity he sourced, negotiated and built all major initial partnerships for the company, including Yahoo, Google, MSN, and Hardwarezone. He was also responsible for building the team from his initial sole role to a staff of 35 in Singapore and Hong Kong.

Prior to joining eBay, Frederic was a Founder and Director of Strategy for, the first online wastewater treatment supply chain management company in the US. At Commonstream Frederic successfully raised venture capital funding and exited the company. Before that, Frederic was an Associate in SG Cowen’s Private Placements Group in New York City, focusing on private equity financings of technology companies.

Frederic also spent two years as an analyst in the corporate finance group of Bear Stearns, Inc. in New York and Hong Kong, where he specialized in financings of Asian companies.

Frederic holds a BA in International Relations from Vassar College and an MBA in Finance, Marketing and Strategy from the University of Chicago.
